ALBANY, New York. (May 15, 2009) Albany-based AWS Truewind, LLC, an international leader in renewable energy consulting, today announced plans to expand its global operations with a new office in Bangalore, India.

“With an estimated potential of 65,000 MW and an annual growth rate averaging 26% (over 10,000 MW installed currently), India represents one of the largest potential markets for wind energy development worldwide,” said Jim Adams, Vice President of Business Development.

The new office is located in Bangalore and will be led by Mr. Arvinder Singh who recently joined the firm. “The decision to expand our global operations was an easy one,” said Adams. “With promise for tremendous growth in the country, we need to be on the ground and accessible to all of our clients. Mr. Singh has an in-depth understanding of the market and the industry—an essential mix to ensure success,” added Adams.

Mr. Arvinder Singh’s career in business development spans 15 years, the most recent of which have been dedicated to the Indian wind industry. He has played a pivotal role in the design and execution of new business strategies, client management and relationship building, and developing service delivery capabilities. Mr. Singh holds advanced degrees in Marketing and International Marketing from the University of Strathclyde, UK and Robert Gordon University, UK.

“As a global leader in renewable energy consulting, it is important for us to have resources on the ground for our international client-base,” said Bruce Bailey, President of AWS Truewind. “Establishing a local presence will ensure our clients based in India, and those based in the US conducting business in the country, benefit from a local understanding of the marketplace,” adds Bailey.
