Michael Brower Elected to American Wind Energy Association Board of Directors
June 30, 2010

AWS Truepower announced that the company’s Chief Technical Officer, Michael Brower, has been elected at-large director to the American Wind Association (AWEA) Board of Directors.

“We are delighted to welcome Michael to the AWEA Board of Directors,” said AWEA CEO Denise Bode. “The 2010 Board members take their places at a time when support for wind energy is crucial. The Board includes leaders from every aspect of the industry, and will provide expertise and guidance to our association and to our industry as a whole. I want to thank our Board members for their commitment and look forward to working with all to unleash the tremendous benefits that this industry can bring to our country, from job creation to environmental health and energy security.” AWEA’s Board of Directors governs the association and sets strategic priorities for its activities.

“It is an immense honor to be elected to the AWEA Board. For decades AWEA has played a critical part in advancing the cause of wind energy in the United States – by shaping public policy at the federal and state levels, forging strategic partnerships with other industries and organizations, promoting public awareness, and fostering best practices, among other things,” said Brower. “For over 25 years, AWS Truepower has been providing wind energy consulting and information services, and I look forward to bringing our experience and perspectives to the table.”

Brower’s appointment continues a lengthy tradition of service by AWS Truepower to the US wind industry. Preceding Brower was AWS Truepower President and CEO Bruce Bailey, who served on the AWEA board from 1998 to 2006.

The company recently rebranded as AWS Truepower to reflect its broadened scope of development and operational solutions and related intelligence for the renewable energy marketplace, including professional wind developers.
