Strong policy requires sound information about regional resources, energy production potential, economic impact, and countless other considerations. AWS Truepower (AWST) has worked on behalf of the United States Department of Energy (US DOE), the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL), World Bank, International Finance Corporation, the New York State Energy and Resource Development Authority (NYSERDA), and numerous other government and non-government organizations to offer guidance as they make industry-critical decisions on policy and infrastructure.
AWST ensures those responsible for putting the necessary policy and infrastructure in place to bring clean energy to homes throughout the world are making the most informed decisions possible. Our reports are rooted in proven science, reliable data, and sophisticated methodologies. By leveraging our state-of-the-art technologies, in-depth knowledge and expertise in resource and energy assessment, AWST has played an integral role in a number of important studies that will drive on- and offshore wind and large-scale solar development for years to come.
In 2007, under AWS Truewind, the US DOE presented us with the Wind Energy Program Outstanding Technology Acceptance Award. This accolade recognized our role in accelerating the market penetration of wind technology into the US electric generation portfolio through advanced resource mapping technology. Other recent, notable projects include new wind potential estimates released by NREL, New York’s Offshore Wind Energy Development Potential in the Great Lakes on behalf of NYSERDA, and Principal Investigator for the Eastern Wind Integration Study also on behalf of NREL.
