developers with a highly configurable toolbox of capabilities that extend beyond energy capture.
Our openWind® Enterprise 1.3 offers new features including time series energy capture,
effective turbulence intensity and time scheduling of turbines.
NEW! openWind Enterprise 1.3 features:
Time Series Energy Capture
By inserting the time-element back into the energy capture analysis, users can assess diurnal and seasonal impact of turbulence intensity and air density, as well as model temperature variance shutdown losses.
- Based on user-defined time period from days to several years
- Time step interval can be anywhere from 1 minute to 1 hour
- Combines time-series data from several masts
- Outputs 12 X 24 summaries as well as net energy per time-step
Effective Turbulence Intensity (Ti)
Developers now have enhanced tools to help them measure fatigue loading on each turbine.
- Calculate effective turbulence values according to the latest amendment to IEC614000-1 (ed 3)
- Specify how wakes are modeled
- Specify appropriate material-specific Wohler exponent
- Specify how large wind farms are defined
- Output effective Ti at each turbine for each wind speed
Time-Scheduling of Turbines (Pilot)
Users can quantify the impact of grid curtailment, switch to low noise power curves at night in order to meet local regulations, or switch off a turbine for specific times of day during the days of the year for which shadow flicker maybe a problem.
- Switch off individual turbines by time of day for specified times of year
- Switch off individual turbines to different power curves for certain times of day and specified periods for each year
- Edit all the schedules for a site in one convenient grid interface
